Carrie anne Moss married fellow actor Steven Roy in 1999. They have two sons, one born at the end of 2003 and the second born in November 2005. Moss, very keen to protect her and her family’s privacy, has only revealed her older son’s name, Owen.

Actress Maria Bello is the godmother of Moss’ older son.

Once audiences laid eyes on Carrie-Anne as Trinity — latex catsuit and all — in 1999′s The Matrix, it was clear the world had a new sci-fi cyber woman to fulfill every moviegoer’s fantasy.

Named Best Actress in a Leading Role with a Golden State Award for The Matrix, Carrie-Anne expanded her film roles in projects like The Crew, Memento, Red Planet, and the critically-acclaimed Chocolat, in which she portrayed a frigid woman living in a French provincial town. And all these roles were in the year 2000.

International audiences are counting down the days until the rest of The Matrix trilogy arrives to the screen. The next installment will be released in 2003, and is entitled The Matrix Reloaded.

Carrie-Anne Moss grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia as youngest of two children. At the age of 20 she moved to Europe to pursue a career in modeling. In Spain she managed to get a regular role in the TV show “Dark Justice” (1991), which was produced in Barcelona for the 1st season, and followed it to the shooting locations in Los Angeles the next year. Later she appeared in numerous commercials and in the play “Outward Bound” at the Hudson Theater in Los Angeles.
